Journal Entry: Sun Nov 15, 2009, 8:23 PM
Time to get that journal off the front page, eh?

It's been interesting, the past 7 or 8 months. I've been working hard at my job, got home life figured out and happy. There have been exciting times - Doing great commissions I'm proud of, lay offs at the company, future plans. I've restarted my portfolio with the help of DA's new portfolio system.

I'm now at the point where I feel like I should decide if art is really something I want to pursue as a career. Yes, I love to draw, and I think my skills have improved greatly, but I have to be honest with myself: Do I think I have the passion, drive and determination to really invest myself in an art career?

Part of me wants to say yes, quit my job, take out a student loan and really really invest myself. The other part is afraid that I won't take it as seriously as I should, and waste the opportunity, as well as the money.

The coming weeks will be investigation into school options and student loans. If I can get a part-time class, maybe that'll be the way to go.

I found this awesome guy named Aaron Sims who's done a Gnomon tutorial DVD. We're talking photorealistic creature/character paintings in less than 2 hours. Burning the DVD. You want?!

No, no... A lot of my outfits are based on avatars or original characters X3 I don't know if I'd be creative enough on my own for fashion design~

But thank you so much!
