The project was to take two characters, one male one female, from Romeo and Juliet and redesign them in a period of 10 years during the Renaissance in a specific region.
Rather than picking the obvious couple, I chose Benvolio and Lady Montague. Using them, I could do a juxtaposition between the adults and the teens, instead of focusing on the different sides.
Keeping with the original play, I set it in Venice, and then picked approximately 1560 because I saw a portrait of a lady I liked.
